2011 in photos

While I was looking through the photos I took this year, I realized that 2011 blessed me with a lot of opportunities. I was able to cover different events, news and features and I was also able to meet a lot of people who helped me improve my skills in photography.

I was a summer intern at the European Pressphoto Agency where I was able to shoot and practice my photojournalism. I am also currently photo editor of our college publication where I shoot campus happenings and other issues that concern students. Sometimes, I shoot photos with my friends where I try to shoot fashion and portraiture.

So here are some of my favourite shots this year. I hope you like them, too. :)

I'm putting this above all the pictures not because this is my best shot but because this was among the Photos of the Day of Wall Street Journal on May 12, 2011. Yabang! HAHA

Last January, I helped a friend shoot her nude photography assignment. I helped her fix the lights and settings of her camera. As soon as they were done, I shot portraits of her model Kai. We didn't shoot this in a studio. Behind her is white-painted wall. Everything was improvised. We even used study lamps because we don't have enough lights.

FIVE DESIGNS: It was my first time to shoot for a boutique. A friend, Kuya Alej, asked me to accompany him in this shoot. He was the one who fixed the lights and directed the models while I shot the photos. Last October, some photos during the shoot appeared in Meg Magazine. I haven't seen them though. Teehee.

It was my first time to attend Philippine Fashion Week (since I don't care about fashion anyway). It was a little difficult to shoot because the place provided for the media was not that good. The tripods and cameras of the the production team were too big we cannot find a good spot to shoot (because we were not allowed to go beyond the space for the press).

UAAP 74 Cheerdance Competition: It was my first time to cover the cheerdance competition. Our school won! Yay to UP Pep Squad!

*I was trying to link the photos to the sources and original posts but WordPress doesn’t allow links in captions. Oh well. Haha. Just google them if you don’t believe me :) ) (Try searching “Joshua Mark Dalupang EPA” or “Joshua Mark Dalupang EFE”

*I’d like to thank EPA Manila especially Sir Dencio, Tinig ng Plaridel, my dad for my camera, my mom for her support, my friends and all people who inspire me to continue shooting :)
