I’m not gonna write about what happened earlier. Well obviously, the Philippine Daily Inquirer held the first edition of The Presidential Debate. All presidential candidates, except Erap Estrada and Vetallano Acosta. If you want to know more about the forum, please read on the articles of Inquirer.net.

So here are the pics from earlier’s debate.

Supporters of Nacionalista Party's Standard Bearer Manny Villar leveled their endorsement with the heat of the sun.

Green is "in" for the supporters of Lakas-Kampi-CMD's presidential candidate Gilbert Teodoro.

"Gibo Tayo!"

Gordon-Bayani supporters danced in the rhythm of I Gotta Feeling.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer is the country's most trusted national daily.

The Stage: The candidates were grilled with the most controversial questions.

Aiming for one goal: The presidency

The posture, the wit, the looks. Okay. Seriously, girls were shouting everytime he answers. He's one of the best presidential candidates. If only he's not under the Administration's slate... Well, you know that.

Villar was the most criticized candidate during the debate. He was questioned for his political ads and the insertion controversy.

Jamby Madrigal. I love her answers during the debate. She's intelligent and she can prove that. It was, though, funny how she indirectly point criticisms to Villar.

Bro. Eddie Villanueva said that he's gonna be pro-equality. So does that means he's not going to discriminate the members of the third sex? Yes.

Insignificant in surveys, Nicanor "Nicky" Perlas still believes that he can win the presidential race.

Noynoy Aquino. Not as good as his parents. Not as charismatic as them. Not at all. But who knows? He MIGHT be an excellent president.

Dick Gordon. One of the most intellectual presidentiables. He could level with Gilbert Teodoro when it comes to answering controversial issues.

Oh I almost forgot! JC de los Reyes was there too. Uhm, I can't remember anything he said.

The Crowd: Members of the audience also asked questions to the presidentiables.

Looks like they're united. But no. They are all fighting for their own agendas.

Yes, Bayani Fernano was also there. I heard that Gibo's wife was also there, at backstage.

Yeah. Ara Mina is seeking for a seat in Quezon City Council. I think she’s one of those who did early publicity campaign in QC.

I saw this video clip at YouTube. DJ Mo interviewed Ara at Showbiz Central. Most of Mo’s questions were about controversial issues in the Philippine politics and society. Well, watch this video clip and see if Ara deserves to have an office at the Quezon City Hall.

Okay let me summarize what she said.

  • She is pro-private armies (in which case almost everybody defies it.)
  • She knows little about the Ampatuan Massacre (which is VERY controversial)
  • Against pre-marital sex (which in fact she was a former boldstar.)
  • Against Cha-cha (notice her facial expression and the pause before answering. what does that mean?)
  • VFA (Visiting Forces Agreement)- “uuhm.. you?” (Do you think she knows that?)
  • Against marijuana
  • For RH Bill

Okay. So overall, I think she knows little about Philippine politics and governance. Her answers were actually humiliating in her part. So there. QC Voters, DECIDE!

“At a presidential forum sponsored by GMA Network’s Radio DZBB held in Ayala Alabang, Aquino said “there are surveys that can be bought in Quiapo,” in response to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing him to be leading by 11 percent over Villar, down by 8 percent from the last survey of the firm.”

Seriously, I have been an avid supporter of Noynoy. But when I saw him saying “there are surveys that can be bought in Quiapo,” I think I’m changing my mind. His attitude towards the question was awful. If all Filipinos seen him saying that, he won’t be in the top of the next surveys. Well, it is just one situation where he showed his lack of sagacity. Gibo could have answered better than what he did. That one situation is something that made me think twice about Noynoy. What is he showing? Arrogance? Stupidity? He’s destructing himself.

So it won’t be a shock if the following polls would be topped by Villar or Gibo. I think they are far more intelligent than Noynoy. I think this is the time when the Noynoy Fever should end. This is the time to be MORE critical.
